I recently completed a commission for a local rapper and friend of mine – BigFo: cover art for his new song “Need to Get High“.
We decided on a portrait – in a reference to some previous cover art that I had done for a song that is as of now unreleased. I’m still working on my portraiture, so I’m quite pleased with how it turned out. (Okay, okay, I know half of his face is cropped, but I’ll still chalk it up as a W.)
Then, to round out the illustration, I added a flowing smoke trail with a wild collection of objects.
Fo had wanted to go with a bit of an ‘I Spy‘ vibe, so I made sure to include a wide range of objects that reference the song.
I had a lot of fun coming up with and completing this design! This is the third bit of cover art that I’ve done for Big Fo – looking forward to the next design!”
