Do you like trains? Well do YOU?
Okay, okay… what about rail line logos?
If you answered yes to either of those questions, then I have the shirt for you!
I’ve been a huge fan of trains as long as I can remember. I wasn’t interested in dinosaurs, basketball, etc. I WAS INTO TRAINS.
They roll, they carry, they WHIIIISTLE, they’re the goddamn pinnacle of wheeled transportation.
And if you don’t agree you can take it up with ol’ tricky Dick Trevithick in the great beyond.
I started by researching and finding appealing rail logos. They’re often flat, simple, round, and bold. Aspects I frankly find appealing in any design. These really evoke a lot of the classic and peak design trends of the mid-20th century.
A huge help with this task was the many extensively documented websites run by true railfans. The most useful being: “”.
I gathered the logos with no particular criteria besides my own aesthetic inclinations, but I think I arrived at a pretty satisfying mosaic:
Naturally I had to include the simple thought that made this shirt possible in the first place: i like trains.
