Last year, I created a poster/invite for me and my roommates’ unique celebration of Cinco de Mayo, affectionately dubbed “Drinko de Mayo.” In a playful departure from the traditional date, we decided to shake things up and held our festivities on 5/20, because why should the 5th of May have all the fun?

I took a lot of inspiration from retro Tequila ads from 20th century magazines. I also really wanted to evoke the tropical warmth that is on its way during summer. Especially in Vermont, May is when things really start getting nice again.
